Packing & Unpacking
Almost all damage in shifting happens because of weak packing, not because of the road. A plate breaks when it is packed flat. A TV cracks when it travels without a frame. We spend most of our time on packing, and that is why our damage complaints are very few.
You can book packing along with full shifting, or only packing if you have already arranged a vehicle. Some customers also book only unpacking — we come to the new house, open everything, keep items in the right cupboards and take the waste away.
Material we use
- Bubble wrap — glass, mirrors, TV, photo frames, lamps and showpieces
- Five-ply cartons — kitchen items, books, clothes and daily-use things
- Stretch film and blankets — sofa, mattress, fridge, washing machine
- Wooden crates — very costly or delicate items, big TVs, marble tops
- Paper and foam — crockery, cups and glass packed piece by piece
- Room labels — every box marked with the room and what is inside
How we pack each room
Kitchen: the slowest room, so we start here. Glass and crockery are wrapped one by one and packed standing. Oil, masala and liquids are taped and packed separately so nothing spills on your clothes.
Bedroom: clothes go into big cartons or wardrobe boxes, so they do not need ironing again. Beds are opened, screws are put in a small pouch and taped to the bed itself.
Living room: TV first, in bubble wrap and a frame. Sofa fully covered in film. Showpieces and glass tables get extra padding at the corners.
Children and study room: books are packed in small boxes so they can be lifted safely, and toys go in one clearly marked box that we open first at the new house.
Unpacking service
On the day of delivery our team opens the boxes, keeps every item in the room it belongs to, refixes the beds and wardrobes, and removes all the used cartons and plastic. You do not have to live with a mountain of empty boxes for a week.
